Advisory Committee Identification badge of Reverend Edward V. Stanford, O.S.A., LL.D
Besides serving on the Secretary of the Navys Civilian Advisory
Committee, Father Stanford, Villanovas president and renowned Augustinian educator,
was also one of twelve college presidents selected by President Franklin D. Roosevelt to
formulate the Navy V-12 Program. This program, which brought hundreds of trainees to the
Villanova campus, was instrumental in keeping the college solvent during World War II. |
