Commencement, 1987

The Reverend John M. Driscoll, O.S.A. (second from left), university president, greets the three honorary degree recipients and the student orator after the 17 May commencement ceremonies.  They are:  (from left) U.S. Marine Corps General George B. Crist ‘52, commander in chief, U.S. Central Command (received Doctor of Military Science); Mark Edward Greene ‘87, who delivered a commencement message to fellow students of the Class of ‘87; Frank J. Ryan ‘53, vice president of Air Products and Chemicals Inc. (Doctor of Engineering Science); and Jo Eleanor Elliott, director, Division of Nursing, Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Public Health Service (Doctor of Social Science).  Father Driscoll conferred the honorary doctorates.
