“Balloon Day.”
A painting by Brother Patrick Bohmann, O.S.A. Bohmann was
a native of Cloppenburg Germany, who spent 29 years at the Augustinian
Monastery of Saint Thomas of Villanova as a gardener and sacristan. He
took up painting at age 75. His works are characterized by a charming
simplicity and vivid colors. Brother Patrick died on the feast of Saint
Thomas of Villanova, 22 September 1984. |
