Villanova University’s Sesquicentennial Logo

The symbol features the spires of Saint Thomas of Villanova Church in royal blue and gold.  The church marks the center of the inner campus and “symbolizes the continuing quest for knowledge at the heart of the University’s tradition.”  Agnew and Corrigan Advertising, Lancaster, Pennsylvania dsigned the graphic with the input of the Sesquicentennial Steering Committee, the President’s office, the office of University Development and the Graphic Services Office.  The sequicentennial logo was designed with the entire Villanova community in mind and depicts a symbol that figures prominently in most people’s impressions about the unique and special nature of the University.  The logo was visible on campus from 18 September 1992 until 19 September 1993.
